City of Bones, if you like demons, vampires, werewolves, secret societies, all mixed in a girl's real-life teen world, you'll like this book. Clary is able to "see" these creatures after a weird encounter at a dance. She doesn't know why until the story evolves and she finds out she is a Shadowhunter, or one who hunts demons. This is the first of a series of books, so I've got to keep reading to find out MORE! I'm finished with the book if anyone wants it. It's a page turner!!!
ReplyDeleteThis series of books just keeps getting better. The first is good, but by the time you get to the last book (City of Glass) you are amazed by what transpires and you cannot stop reading. I am watching you closely to see if any of YOU have runes on you!!

I am reading the 2nd Percy Jackson and the Olympians book called The Sea of Monsters, in this one Percy and his friend Annabeth are on another quest to find a golden ram skin to save camp half blood, and they are also looking to save Grover.
ReplyDeleteI am currently reading Tunnels. IT is an International bestseller. It is about a boy and his father's obsession with archaeological digs. After his father dissapears, he searches for him. He discovers a tunnel in the cellar. He discovers a huge city under London. His father went to the depths. The farther down, the stranger. This is a great book. I look foward to reading the sequals.
ReplyDeleteI am reading Caddy Ever After by Hilary McKay. It has 4 main characters; Saffron, Rose, Indigo, and Caddy. Each new chapter is about one of those characters. Caddy, the eldest, has just been engaged. Rose is mad about art and has just finished painting a black sky. Saffron's best friend Sarah has been sick for a while and is not getting better. I like this book and I should be finished with it by Wednesday.
ReplyDeleteI am reading the book "I'm not who you think I am" By Peg Kehret. I'm only on the 3rd chapter. It is about a girl named Ginger and she sees an older woman at her 13th birthday party. Ever since Ginger saw the old women, she has had a lot of very weird feelings, almost like she is being stalked. I think that this bok is a pretty interesting book so far!
ReplyDeleteI am reading the book called The Lightning Thief, by Rick Riordan. Percy Jackson is the main character. Percy just got kicked out of boarding school at Yancy Acadamy. Then his mother takes him to the beach and he relizes he is being chased. He then gets in a battle with the minotaur that is chasing him and the minotaur kills his mother. Percy then pulls its horn of and stabs it with it. After the minotaur is dead he crosses in to the immortal world and goes to camp half blood.
ReplyDeleteI am reading a book called The Taste Of Night By R.L. Stine. It's a sequel to the book Dangerous Girls. This book is about how Livvy lives her life as a vampire. Livvy's father is a vampire hunter and he tries to kill her once and then he decided not to. This is only as far as i got in my book.

I am reading the book called The Lightning thief. Where i am at the god of war is stealing the gods symbole. He is framing Percy which is the son god of the sea. Percy is ready to fight him. Hades is mad at Pecy because he thinks Percy stole the darkness Helms. Zues is mad at posiedan because he thinks he got Percy to take the Master bolt which is really important to Zues. Percy has till sun down before the war starts. So is Percy going to make it? You will have to read it and find out.
ReplyDeleteThe book I am reading is the first of the new series The Missing Series by Margarert Peterson Haddix called Found. It is about an adopted child named Jonah and his adopted friend Chip start to receive weird out of the blue letters. Im at a part when they just got done playing Basket Ball and talking about Chip having a crush on Jonahs sister Katherine. Jonah just received his first letter.
ReplyDeleteThe book I am reading is called "Permanent Rose". I read books from Hilary McKay before, and I love her books. The book is a turn pager for me. I enjoy this book because its about a family and not just one person but her whole family in each book. It talks about her shop lifting and how she thinks its a game. The next book is called Indigos Star.

ReplyDeleteSandy the mom has her horse Sunshine. She wants her to have a baby, so her next door neighbor O'Quinn says he has a stallion. Months later Sunshine has a filly named Twilight. When Twilight gets old enough to be broke, Sandy takes her to this guy but her doesn't do his job. So, Sandy takes Twilight to Dick Rank who brakes her to be a cutting horse. Once Dick brakes her Sandy has a hay day with her she takes her to a competition. That's as far as I have got.
I am reading hatchet. It is very good.I am on chapter 7.I just started. So far in the book Brain had tried to fly the plain. The pilot had a hart a tack. Then brain had to fly the plain.

Still, some of you are forgetting to capitalize titles, like I'm Not Who You Think etc., and The Lightning Thief. I know, you're used to texting, but in this case, it won't "do." I want you to proof before you post, OK? I'm glad to have Tara aboard the reading train, and Tanner putting in reading time. Take a book home every night in case you get that nasty flu. Maybe you'd feel like a good book for whatever ails ya!
ReplyDeleteI am reading The Other Boy by Hailey Abbot. It is about a girl who gets caught having and end of the year school party. HEr parnts then make her go with them to this old vineyard they they are going to turn into a big wine making place. She thinks it is going to be the most boring summer ever. But then she meets a boy. She then thinks mabye things wont turn out so bad
ReplyDeleteI'm still reading the Series of unfortunate events series. Im currently on book 6 called The Ersatz Elevator. Its about the Baudelaire orphants who go live in a fancy hotel with the Squalors whos only concerns is whats in or out like elevators are out, orphants are in, and tools are out. Just as they think Count olaf is gone for good, he returns!!
ReplyDeleteI finished the 2nd Percy Jackson and the Olympian book, it was amazing, the quest for the magic golden ram skin that was supposed to heal the Pine tree at camp half blood worked to well, the pine tree was actualy Thalia daughter of Zeus, she was dieing then she was turned into a tree, the ram skin healed the tree so much that it turned Thalia back into a girl.
ReplyDeleteIs reading a book called Dragon Rider By Cornelia Funke the same author of Inkheart and THE THIEF LORD. this book is about a dragon and it's forest brownie not like the food you will hafe to read to find out what it is hafe to move becas peaple are moving in to there volly. I am only on page 90 out of 523 "so fare its a good book for not a shoot um up one"

ReplyDeletei am reading a very interesting book called stargirl. It is by Jerry Spinelli. I picked this book becuase i had heard it was a good book. I am only a little ways into the book so i dont know much about it. It starts out telling about the school and two boys, Kevin and Leo. They are suspicios about the new girl in their school. Her name is Stargirl. She was different then everyne else, she had a ukulele and she would sing to the kids in the lunchroom on their bithday. No one knows how and why she knows their birhday dates. Then one night leo got a call from kevin telling him to come to the football game. Thier school had no schoo, spirit. No one every came to the games. Well tonight they did. Stargilr was there and she was dancing in the feild. Then the football players came out and did some stretches. The referee blew the whistle and she still didn't get ff the feild. Then she ran after the ball. Finally she got off the feild. and thats how far i'm in the book.
ReplyDeleteI am reading the 3rd Percy Jackson and the Olympian book called The Titans Curse, this one Percys friend Annabeth and the goddess Athemis have been kidnapped and Percy, Grover, Thalia, and Arthemis' crew are going to search for them this is a great series.
ReplyDeleteI am reading Fever 1793 by Laurie Halse Anderson. It is about the yellow fever in Philadelphia long ago. Hundreds of people have died so far. I am only on page 61 out of 243 pages but I will probably finish this weekend. It is a very good book based on a true story. It is non-fiction also.
ReplyDeleteRight now I am reading the sequel to Hunger Games, called Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins. Before the Victor Tour, President Snow comes to Katniss's house and warns her that if she doesn't convice him that she and Peeta are madly in love they will be punished. Now the Quarter Quell, a version of the Hunger Games that happens every 25 years, is coming up and the people that will be competing this year are past victors, one male, and one female. Since Katniss is the only female victor from District 12, she is going back into the arena. Haymitches name is drawn at the reaping, Peeta volunteers and takes his place. Now Katniss and Peeta are back in the Capitol, training hard for another fight in the arena.

After he defeats his old math teacher, he went outside he asked about her and everyone thought he was stupid. To everyone the math teacher never existed. Now Percy Jackson is confused about everything.
ReplyDeleteI was recently reading a book called The Pack by Elisa Carbone. This book is about a girl named Becky and her friend Omar becoming friends with one of the weirdest people they will ever meet. His name is Akhil. Akhil is very weird person...he won't sit in chairs he yells at the teachers and he is almost always in trouble. Then one day at school Omar omar has to take someones home work to them....he looks in there bookbag and he finds somthing very disturbing and wants to put a stop to it...but you must read this book to find out how it ends.

ReplyDeletei am reading a book called "Among The Hidden" by Margaret Peterson Haddix. There are 2 main characters rigt know named Luke and Jen. Luke has a mom a dad and 2 other brothers named matthew and mark. Jen has a mom a dad and 2 brothers. Since Luke is the third child then he is not aloud to go out side or anywhere. Thats is also the sam e with jen.

ReplyDeleteI am reading a book called Ghosts of the Mississippi river by Bruce Carlson. It is about ghosts all along the Mississippi. The first chapter is about a man name Carl he lives in a fish shake. He goes to Mike's place all the time(bar). They got in a fight about if a catfish is related to a bullead. and when he went home he looked it up in his book all about fish when he was eating he was wolfing the food down and a peice got stuck in his throut.His wife hit him the back to dislodge the meat he went unconsciousness and he was dead.

It is a really good book about a girl named Liberty who comes to a new school and some guy named Ryan gets invited to a party and doesn't want to go because there's too many people hanging Liberty. He likes her. He just doesn't know it. He won't tell her he likes her.
ReplyDeleteI'm reading the book Wringer by Jerry Spinelli. It is about a kid who doesn't want to be a Wringer, a person who wrings necks of birds on festival day. They shoot it and then wring their necks. He doesn't like that whole idea. He found a pigeon and is hiding it from his friends. At the end, he lets the bird go and it shows up at the festival and almost dies. I like the book because the character is good.
ReplyDeleteI just finished a book called Dragons of Deltora; Dragon's Nest. This book is a continuation of the Deltora Quest series. In this volume, the three companions go in search of the sister of the east, which is poisoning the land. but before they can do the task, they must face the guardian of the sister. This was a very good read by my standards.
ReplyDeleteI am reading a book called Fallen Angels. Peewee and Perry are on night watch duty and they are there for a while and don't see any thing then Peewee sees something in the darkness and starts firing his M-16 Then everybody in the squad starts firing. Perry pulls his trigger but nothing happend. their commander comes over and told Perry that he forgot to reload hid gun. The squad pulled a VC regular out of the darkness.
